The most surprising thing about England’s Euros performance so far is that they’re top of Group C, which also included Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia.
It’s almost on a par with falling asleep in the garden and waking up with a Best Display award from the Chelsea Flower Show.

It’s been a disappointingly uneventful rise to the top, which sees the team go through to the knockout stages, where they’re widely expected to be immediately knocked out.
