‘I’m Just Ed’ hilariously captures the vibe of the Lib Dem leader’s campaign like nothing else

Whatever happens in the polling stations today, nobody can say that Lib Dem leader Ed Davey hasn’t had an eye-catching campaign. From day one, he’s gone all-in on the publicity-seeking stunts, and it’s definitely got him publicity.

Here are a few examples.

While it might have reminded some people of Action Man, it put comedian Greg Birks in mind of a very different doll.

“I’m just Ed.
Total Wipeout’s greatest threat.
What will it take for them to see the guy behind the tie,
And vote for me?”

Spectacular stuff.

Can’t beat a good political satire song. Very funny. Can’t decide if it’s ultimately in praise of Davey or a piss take. Probably why it’s very good. https://t.co/tc2ESrhEqq
