Richard Osman predicted Rishi Sunak’s latest election tweet wouldn’t end well and he was right – 17 favourite comebacks

Rishi Sunak’s election campaign started catastrophically and just got worse, and now appears to consist almost entirely of tweets most kindly described as bizarre, less kindly as utterly inane.

And this one on Tuesday, with just two days to go to polling day, hit new heights.

Once you make that decision on Thursday, there’s no going back.

Don’t do something you might regret.

It caught the eye of Pointless guy turned gazillion selling author and cultural phenomenon, Richard Osman, who suggested it probably wasn’t going to end well for the beleaguered PM.

A Prime Minister so weak, so defeated, so utterly bereft of substance, that he’s reduced to spouting naff soap opera dialogue like some tearful diva in EastEnders, mascara running down her cheeks, howling ‘You walk out that door now and our marriage is over!’ Tune in on Friday. https://t.co/j5p6ntCpUw

This is a very weird framing for an election. The entire point of democracy is that voters can and do regularly decide to change government. There is always “going back.” It’s just that voters have clearly decided that 14 years was certainly long enough for this failed government https://t.co/bFq3knqIxN
