Rishi Sunak released a video saying there are only 24 hours left to stop a Labour ‘supermajority’ and got owned into the middle of next week

With less than 24 hours to go until polls open, Rishi Sunak seems to have already thrown in the towel. He’s given up on a Conservative victory and focussed his attention instead on trying to stop a Labour ‘supermajority’ by releasing this bizarre anime-style cartoon. Desperate times, and all that.

24 hours until polls open.

24 hours to stop the tax-raising Labour supermajority.

It's in your hands. pic.twitter.com/cjBC79gISy

It seems the prime minister just can’t win at this point, both literally and metaphorically. Tick tock, Rishi. These decidedly unimpressed people are counting down the seconds until both you and your terrible video are gone.

24 hours til we say goodbye to the worst, most destructive government of my lifetime. https://t.co/5ZYcb58ZXX

24 hours until we can finally hold you to task.
48 hours until your own party turns on you.
72 hours until you book those tickets for California.

Holy crapahoola this is absolutely terrible. I refuse to believe anyone got paid to make this, have they run out of money and let Crispin in accounts have a go at a bit of animation using Windows 95? https://t.co/boQsO3RTUe

Making your main line for the final few days of an electoral cycle "please don't let us lose too badly" is certainly a bold strategy https://t.co/KTrL8h2gjB

Private jet to California check. Removal firm date confirmation check. Malibu condo cleaned check. Last minute post to still pretend I give a shit check.

Brought to you by some people who think that you’ll think this is cool. After 14 years all they’ve got is a bad cartoon. https://t.co/h4coHyd7Ii

Did austerity affect your animation budget? https://t.co/mO0gaXraND

Maybe this election campaign has broken my brain, but I'm digging the "anime from the people who brought you Count Duckula" aesthetic of this absolute trash advert. Now I want a social realist adult animation about a depressed provincial mother called Sue. https://t.co/wnqJavrQjk

It’s like Thundercats. Way to connect with the voters aged under 45

So obviously made by an American or AI. No buildings look like this, let alone where you vote. Where is the church halls and primary school? Why are they pressing a button? Where is their voting slip and pencil?! Genuinely worst campaign ever. https://t.co/ZGnUOGb9nB

Aside from the awful wikiHow-esque visual style, I really, REALLY can't imagine there are many young Conservative voters in the UK who not only love anime but also believe that voting consists of smashing a big red button labelled "STOP THE SUPERMAJORITY"?

Embarrassing stuff! https://t.co/V3J0cldMJF pic.twitter.com/hfDuAXgGCe

Genuinely looking forward to the big campaign autopsy over the next few months to find exactly who in the Conservative camp was responsible for making the key message ‘please don’t hurt us too badly’. https://t.co/XGKu60A232

By tomorrow morning the CCHQ account is just going to be posting "please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please" https://t.co/fii3EwJH2r

Ouch. Maybe we’re at The Simpsons’ ‘Stop! Stop! He’s already dead’ meme point of the week but, ultimately, the prime minister only has himself to blame.

It's not our fault you called the election, son.
