It’s been an Olympic Games full of memorable moments but not many of them were as unexpected as this, the fabulous moment when French runner Alice Finot proposed to her boyfriend, Spanish triathlete Bruno Martínez Bargiela.
The moment came just after Finot had competed in the 3000m steeplechase, finishing fourth and breaking the European record in the process, presenting him with a pin she had been carrying the entire race.
